We are back!

After what seems like a long wait - it is after all 2023, we are back! The first production run of Earofoils is now complete. And they really do look great.

During this period we have thought about how we make them to ensure they do what they say they will and keep your ears warm. We can safely say the two sheepskin sets (black and cream) will definitely do this!

COVID-19

Like many around the world 2020 did not turn out quite the way anyone anticipated. Nonetheless we continue on with our lives. Despite the less than auspicious start to the year. What it has done is provide some time to refine and build on the foundations and design for the Earofoils - you can see the new designs on the product pages.

COVID has also impacted on the production team (Rob and Triple B Industries) who have been busy working on keeping up production for his clients namely those in security, law enforcement and the military.

While we have not completed a full production run we will continue to look for a time and place to brings Earofoils to market, and the cold ears of the world.

The challenges we face

Creating something new is a journey. You can prepare for what may happen along the way, but until you start you cannot prepare for everything.

In 2019 the process of bringing Earofoils to the market was well underway. The plan was to launch on Kickstarter in September 2019. I achieved that goal, however shortly after launching I was faced with a family emergency - my mum got sick - and the focus quickly changed. Over the coming four months the focus was just on looking after her well being. Numerous close calls, visits to intensive care and dialysis, and we thought we were well on the way back to better health. Alas that did not turn out to last and on Christmas day 2019 my mum passed away.

The reason for sharing this story is two fold, one to highlight the dilemma of trying to create something new and the reality that sometimes you need to prioritise what is really important to you (family is that for me); and second to celebrate and give thanks. My mum was a creative spirit, who was full of support and light. Even when she was helping me and could not see my vision in building proto-types, she smiled and helped anyway. For that help and the time I spent with her I will be eternally grateful.
